Ignitia’s highly-accurate, hyper-local weather forecasts enable smallholder farmers across West Africa to turn weather conditions from a risk into an asset. Our project will equip 120,000 farmers in Cote d’Ivoire with SMS-based weather forecasts to improve their livelihoods, food security, and build resilience to external shocks, including climate change and secondary food system impacts from Covid-19.
Farmers utilizing our digital information and advisory services change their good agricultural practices to time activities, such as planting, fertilizing, harvesting, or drying, under the optimal forecasted weather conditions. Ignitia's forecasts, based on innovative remote sensing and machine learning technology, will reach farmers through scalable telecommunication company partnerships and bundling our services with agribusinesses and agtech platforms.
