Health and social well-being

Through our insurance and services, we support this by helping to arrange and pay for health care as well as actively contributing to a healthier life. We assist customers in finding the right health care in the right place, both digitally and at home. Additionally, we collaborate with employers to help their employees work on their physical and mental health in a visible and meaningful way.
Health goes beyond care alone; living circumstances, work and social connection also determine how people feel. Therefore, we want to contribute to a society in which everyone can participate.
For example, it is clear to us that an increasing number of young people are experiencing pressure on their mental and financial health. Finding housing or starting on the labour market with equal opportunities has become more difficult. That is why we pay extra attention to young people by joining forces with organisations like LEF, Bank voor de klas (Bank in the Classroom) and JINC to help them gain financial skills and discover their talents.

Sustainable investment for health and well-being
Health is an important theme within our investment policy. By actively fulfilling our role through engagement, active shareholdership and impact investments, we encourage companies to improve and to strenghten their positive contribution to society. We do not invest in companies that produce tobacco, and we focus the theme of health on healthy nutrition and access to medicines. By these means, we strive to ensure that our investments contribute to a future in which people can live healthy lives and have access to equal opportunities.Read about Sustainable investment and financing >
Sustainable working together
We also integrate health and social well-being within our own organisation. We are committed to sustaining a healthy work environment and a high level of employee engagement. Our sustainable employment practices consist of four pillars:• Inclusion, diversity and equality: we strive to create a work culture in which everyone feels welcome and can use their talents.
• Work-life balance: we encourage to balance work with personal life effectively.
• Training and development: we invest in growth, vitality and employability.
• Social safety: we aim to facilitate an open, respectful and safe work environment for everyone.
This way we build an organisation where employees can work, learn and contribute to our societal goals with a feeling of enjoyment and confidence.
