Executive Board

Bianca Tetteroo (1969)

Chair of the Executive Board
Bianca Tetteroo Bianca Tetteroo joined the Executive Board in June 2015 and became chair in April 2021. Ms. Tetteroo qualified as a chartered accountant in 1997 and completed her information management studies at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. She has also completed several executive training programmes in corporate governance and leadership (Insead). She started her career in 1988 at what is now the accountancy firm Mazars. In 1996 she started working in the financial sector at the former Fortis. In 2009, she moved to Achmea, where she became finance director of Syntrus Achmea. From 2012 to mid-2015, Ms. Tetteroo was chair of the Pension & Life division in 2012.

Ms Tetteroo is responsible for Strategy (Corporate Strategy & MVO), Achmea IT, Executive Board Support Office, Corporate Communications and Internal Audit. In addition, Ms. Tetteroo is vice-chair of the Dutch Association of Insurers (Verbond van Verzekeraars), and a Board member of the Dutch Council for Cooperatives (Nationale Coöperatieve Raad), Garanti Emiklilik (Turkey) and Eurapco. She is also a Board member of the Supervisory Board of Netspar and the Kunsthal Rotterdam.

Michel Lamie (1966)

Michel Lamie Michel Lamie joined the Executive Board in January 2017 and became vice-chair in April 2021. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer in April 2017.As well as Finance, Mr Lamie is responsible for Balance Sheet Management, Strategy (M&A and Programme Office) and Achmea Reinsurance. Mr Lamie is chair of the Supervisory Board of Achmea Reinsurance Company N.V. and a director of Achmea Pensioen- en Levensverzekeringen N.V. and Achmea Schadeverzekeringen N.V. He is vice-chair of the Board of Directors at Interamerican Greece.

Mr Lamie is a registeraccountant and studied economics and accountancy at VU Amsterdam. After graduating, he began his career at KPMG and then moved to RSA Benelux as CFO. Mr Lamie subsequently joined Achmea, most recently as Group Director Finance & Control. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Board of De Goudse Verzerkingen, initially as vice-chair, and from 2009 to 2016, as chair. Mr Lamie also spent many years as a director of the Dutch Association of Insurers (Verbond van Verzekeraars) and as chair of the Supervisory Board of the intermediary business Van Lanschot Chabot. In addition to his role at Achmea, Mr Lamie is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Koninklijke De Heus.

Daphne de Kluis (1969)

Daphne de Kluis

Daphne de Kluis joined Achmea’s Executive Board in October 2021. She studied Labor and Organizational Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. Daphne de Kluis joined ABN AMRO in 1998. After holding various roles at Commercial Clients and Corporate & Institutional Banking she became Global Head of Debt Solutions in 2009 and Global Head of Financial Restructuring & Recovery in 2013. In 2017 she was appointed CEO of Commercial Banking and joined the Executive Committee of ABN AMRO.

Daphne de Kluis is responsible for Pension & Life, Achmea Pension Services, Achmea Investment Management, Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance and Achmea Bank. She is a director of Achmea Pensioen- en Levensverzekeringen NV and a member of the Supervisory Board of Achmea Bank NV. Daphne de Kluis is a member of the Supervisory Boards of Euronext Amsterdam and of Stadsherstel Amsterdam.


Robert Otto (1967)

Robbert Otto

Robert Otto joined Achmea’s Executive Board in August 2015. He studied law at Leiden University and started his career in 1992 at ING. After two years as CEO of OHRA, Robert Otto became managing director of Delta Lloyd’s commercial division in 2010. In mid-2013, he moved
to Achmea to become chairman of the Non-Life & Income Protection division. 

Robert Otto is responsible for Zilveren Kruis, the foreign operating companies (Eureko Sigorta, Interamerican, Union, Achmea Australia and Onlia Canada), InShared and Human Resources/Management Development.

Robert Otto is a member of the Board of Thuiswinkel.org. He is also a member of the Board of the Association of Mutual Insurers and Insurance Cooperatives in Europe (AMICE) and the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF).

Lidwien Suur (1974)

Lidwien Suur joined Achmea’s Executive Board in September 2019. She studied International Business at Maastricht University and started her career in 1998 at ING/Nationale-Nederlanden, where her positions included Director of Income Protection Insurance and Strategy Programme Director.

From early 2012, Lidwien Suur was managing director of Unigarant and ANWB Verzekeren and after 2014 was a member of the board of the ANWB, becoming CFO in 2016. 

Lidwien Suur is responsible for Non-life, Centraal Beheer, Interpolis, Market Strategy & Innovation, Achmea Corporate Relations & Partnerships and the Platform Customer Centricity.

Lidwien Suur is chair of the Non-Life Insurance sector management board of the Dutch Association of Insurers, member of the Board of the Guarantee Fund Motorised Vehicles and member of the Board of the Dutch Motor Insurers’ Bureau. She is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Microcredit for Mothers, a foundation that provides micro-loans to extremely poor women in Asia.

Henk Timmer (1961)

Henk Timmer

Henk Timmer joined the Executive Board in March 2014. Mr Timmer studied economics in Utrecht and continued his studies in IT Audit in Tilburg. He held various positions in auditing, consultancy and ICT. He started his career at Achmea in 1997 as an auditor and manager for various business units, including IT, Health, Non-Life and Broker.

In 2008, Mr Timmer was appointed managing director of Group Audit & Risk Services. In this role, he managed the Audit, Risk and Integrity support services. In 2012 the audit role was separated and he became Director of Internal Audit covering the entire Achmea Group, both nationally and internationally.

Mr Timmer is responsible for Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Central Services, Legal Affairs and Regulators. Mr Timmer participates on behalf of Achmea in the CRO Forum, a group of professional risk managers drawn from the European insurance industry that is engaged in developing and promoting best practices in Risk Management.
